Terms and Conditions

Because of varying market conditions, the prices in our catalog/website/phone and mail orders are subject to change. SMG reserves the right to invoice all orders on the basis of prices which are in effect at the time of shipment. We will try to contact you if there is any substantial change in the prices of any items you have ordered. Please feel free to confirm prices at any time by calling toll-free 1-800-310-2360.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Paypal.  If your credit card information is incorect we will contact you to try to correct the payment.  If payment is not corrected, we will unfortunately have to cancel your order.  

Term Accounts Only: Any overdue credit amounts are subject to a 1.5% monthly charge. If not paid after the first statement cycle, a $10 per month billing charge will be assessed in addition to the 1.5% monthly charge. Payment for merchandise is invoiced in United States Dollars.

We reserve the right to pass non-payment claims to third party collection agencies and legal means for remittance.  Purchases are subject to the laws of Wisconsin and the United States of America.

Sales Tax
By law, we are required to collect Wisconsin State sales tax, where applicable.  Sales tax exemptions will be honored if we have a valid, signed certificate on file.  Note:  Wisconsin does not charge sales tax for Food.

Shipping Charges - Please see our Shipping Policy for Important Information!

The customer pays all freight and/or optional insurance charges, unless duly noted by the product description.

Additional Freight Charges: The small package carriers impose additional charges if they have to make changes to your shipping information after the order has been processed. To avoid these charges, please ensure that you provide accurate information and/or confirm shipping information at the time of your phone, web or mail-in order.


If you pick the wrong shipping method, we will contact you with the advised upon shipping method and ask for approval. If our calls and/or emails go unanswered, your order will be cancelled and refunded - minus a reshelving fee which totals 20% of your order less shipping.

Freight Damages
If we make an error or send you the wrong product please call and we will correct the problem.  We work hard to properly package your purchase to avoid damage during shipping.  If items are damaged during shipment please notify the driver if possible and call us (1-800-310-2360) so that we can start a claim.  Certain merchandise such as glass is fragile by nature and difficult to ship.  Glass is shipped at your risk because shipping companies will not cover damage to glass.  We do ship large quantities of glass with few problems.

All merchandise becomes your property as soon as we give it to the freight carrier. Please make sure you pick the proper shipping method when ordering your products.

Returns & Exchanges
Because of the perishable nature of the products in which we ship, we cannot by law accept returns of merchandise.  All claims for spoiled products must be made within 24 hours of receiving your products and claims must be accompanied by pictures with temperatures of products for viewing by shipper.  We will take the evidence provided from you and compare this with UPS shipping and delivery confirmations, prior to approving any form of a refund.

Non-returnable Merchandise
If you pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express we will credit your account and the credit will be reflected on your account statement. 

If your order is damaged in shipping, please call us immediately, so we can start the damage claim process with the carrier.  Pictures are very helpful when filing a claim!  Please refer to the Freight Damages section for more information.

Due to the nature of some products, their use and the safety issues, the following product classes are non-returnable: consumables (food items), books, personal care products.

Pick Up Orders
We would love to see you in person.  Our friendly and helpful staff are happy to share their Meat and food experience with you.  You might even get to meet "The Meat Detective". 

If you are planning a visit, please call first, to ensure product availability and to secure your order.  We make no guarantees on availability of product, most items are on a first come first served basis, unless reserved by the client in advance. If you place an order over the internet or phone your order in to our office, we will try to have it packed, for you when you arrive.  Please help us by checking orders carefully before you leave to be certain everything is correct as we don’t want you to get home and discover that we have made an error.

Internet Orders
Web orders can be placed on our website at Web orders are processed every business day (Monday - Friday), except on Major holidays.  Any orders placed after that time will be processed on the next business day. Once processed, web orders will be handled with the same high level of care and attention as any other order.  We will try to contact you if there are any discrepancies on your web order (ie. mistyped billing address, backorders, etc.).  Due to time constraints with shipping to certain areas, we only ship Monday through Thursday and do not ship perishable products over the weekend.  Please see notes corresponding with each product description as to shipping methods allowed.

Order Cancellations
Because of errors in transmission, download, reliability of the utility companies’ networks and susceptibility to intercept through e-mail, all orders must be canceled over the telephone with a Customer Service Representative by calling 715-386-6628 or toll-free 1-800-310-2360.  Orders cannot be cancelled once they have been shipped.

Special Orders
Special orders must be accompanied by a deposit of no less than 50% with the balance due prior to shipment or pick up. Special orders are subject to a cancellation charge - this charge is the 50% deposit made to reserve the product. A special order constitutes anything not listed on our website,  Note:  We do a lot of special order requests for customers - so if you do not see it on our website - call us at 715-386-6628 or Toll Free at 800-310-2360, so we can help you in your search for the fun and interesting stuff.

Back Orders
We attempt to ship all orders on the first or second day after they are received depending on the season. If an item is on back-order, customers will be notified as soon as possible .   As soon as back-ordered items come into stock, they will receive first priority handling. Customers may choose to ship in stock items ahead of back-ordered items, however, additional freight charges for back-ordered items are the customer’s responsibility.

Because conditions of use are beyond our control, we make no warranty or representation, express or implied, except that all products conform to the description provided by the manufacturer on sales literature or product labels. Our liability is limited to the purchase price paid.

Product Suitability

Many states and municipalities have local codes and regulation governing sales, and/or use of products for certain purposes. We attempt to ensure that our products comply with such codes; we cannot guarantee compliance to such codes in every situation, nor can we be responsible for how the product is used. Before you purchase and use a product, please review both the product application and local codes and regulations. Be sure that the product and its use will comply with such codes.

Publishing Errors
We are not responsible for typographical or photographic errors that may appear in any material published by SMG. We retain the right to make adjustments or corrections due to changing market conditions, product discontinuations or typographical or photographic errors in products.
